PartyPoker sets Tournament Day for February

Looking forward to a new year, PartyPoker has announced the fourth edition of its huge MILLIONS online tournament.

The $5,300 buy-in event kicks off in February, with an incredible $5 million guaranteed prize pool and two starting flights. Every player will start with one million chips, but without a blind structure, that number may not mean much. But the stacks will undoubtedly be deep.

Daily satellites run with buy-ins ranging from only $0.01 all the way up to $55. The $55 maximum buy-in is for one of 10 Main Event seats; those seats are worth $5,300 each in direct qualifiers. Those satellites will be played each Sunday at 21:00 (GMT).

Tournament registration is allowed through the end of the ninth level; through that time, the levels are 25 minutes long. One re-entry is permitted in each starting flight.

Day 1A Kicks off on Valentine’s Day

Day 1A kicks off on February 14, so plan on a romantic breakfast out, to keep the rest of the day devoted to advancing in the tournament. Day 1B begins on February 21, so perhaps poker players with a significant other should begin playing on Day 1B.

From that point, each day of play will take place on consecutive days. So Day 2 will begin on February 22 with ten 30-minute levels. The next day, February 23, Day 3 play will go down to just nine players, who will come back on Wednesday, February 24, for the final table.

Of course, there are plenty of satellites for small buy-in players who don’t want to shell out $5,300. PartyPoker is calling these penny satellites “centrolls”. These centrolls award tickets into the Phase 1 $5.50 tournaments, and those feed into the Phase 2 $55 satellites.

Phase 2 Satellites

Phase 2 is somewhat different than most poker satellites. Players won’t need to win or finish in top-level spots to move forward. Phase 2 satellites go for 22 levels and players who still have chips at the end of the day will advance to the weekly final. However, there is a catch; if a player takes their chips to the weekly final, they’re still going to need to try to build their chip stack.

The weekly final is where tickets are awarded for the $5,300 MILLIONS Online Main Event.
